Kittens
PRICING - Cats and kittens are priceless but taking care of them isn't. The pricing of kittens and cats reflect the care that has gone into the growth and development of the cats and kittens, maintaining and monitoring the health of my breeding cats and in recognition of the time and effort in placing kittens.
- Be calm and quiet when bringing the kitten into your home.
- Place the carrier on the floor and let the kitten come out on their own accord.
- Keep your kitten in a small room when he or she first arrives.
- Sit or lie on the floor at your kitten's level to play and socialise
- Place your kitten in the litter box several times a day.
- Introduce your kittens slowly to your other pets.
- Ensure the kitten knows where his or her food and water is kept and check your kitten is eating and drinking enough.
- Ensure you are aware of potentially dangerous scenarios. Toilet seats/lids need to be down at all times, kittens love water
Kittens bred commercially, indiscriminately and carelessly are likely to…
- Develop disease
- Have temperamental problems
- Be difficult to housetrain
- Find adjusting to family life hard
- Suffer physical defects and have hereditary weaknesses
- Think carefully before buying and do not buy the pet because you feel sorry for it.
- If you buy from an unscrupulous breeder or dealer, you will be supporting their trade in misery.
- Every one you buy, another takes it place.
Is a Bengal for me???
- Bengals are strong characters that know their own minds, and are possibly not the best breed for someone wanting a laid back lap cat. However, a well-bred Bengal Kitten will have a big personality, wonderful temperament, be very affectionate and is perfectly suited to join families with children and other animals such as other cats or dogs. Bengals thrive on attention and will appreciate the company of at least one more cat. They will form a very strong attachment to their owner looking at them as their sole mate. Should you be out of the home for several hours, several times a week we would strongly advise considering buying two Bengal Kittens. .Being very athletic, they are also some of the most agile cats you will ever see and their acrobatics are a joy to watch. Unlike common cats, Bengal cats can also be trained to preform tricks like dogs. They also love playing in and around water and pawing at aquariums! This legacy has probably come from its ancestors who often live near water and are accomplished swimmers and fishers.Bengals are very energetic cats and they will hide and seek, hitch a ride on your shoulders, pounce on the broom and will leave you questioning their logic with their mischievous and inquisitive behaviour. They do sleep like any other cat, but love to tear around or race around after imaginary prey.Being no ordinary cat, a well brought up Bengal kitten will bring laughter, love and entertainment to the whole family.
Lily & Romeos 2nd litter 8 weeks old :-)
Lily and Romeo's very first litter together 7 weeks old :-)
I love my little kitty, she makes my house a home.
She always is my best friend, I never feel alone.
She makes me smile, she makes me laugh,
She fills my heart with love ...
Did some breeder breed her, or did she fall down from above?
I've never been a breeder, seen life through their eyes,
I hold my little kitty and just sit and criticize.
I've never known their anguish, I've never felt their pain,
The caring of their charges, through snow or wind and rain.
I've never sat the whole night through, waiting for babies to be born,
The stress and trepidation when they're still not there by dawn.
I've never felt the heartache, of a little life in my hands,
This darling little baby, who weighs but 60 grams.
Should you do that instead of this ....or this instead of that,
Alone you fight, and hope one day, he'll grow to be a cat,
and bring joy to another being, and make a house a home,
You know it's all just up to you, you'll fight this fight alone.
Formula, bottles, heating pads, you've got to get this right,
Two hourly feeds for this tiny guy, throughout the day and night.
In your heart you know, you're almost sure to lose the fight,
to save this little baby, but God willing ... you just MIGHT.
Day one he's in there fighting, you say a silent prayer,
Day two & three, he's doing well, with lots of love and care.
Day four & five ... he's still alive, your hopes soar to the heavens,
Day six he slips away again, dies in your hands day seven.
You take this little angel, and bury him alone,
With aching heart and burning tears, and an exhausted groan,
You ask yourself "Why do this? ... why suffer all this pain?"
But see the joy your kittens bring... it really self explains.
So, when you think of breeders and label them with "greed",
Think about what they endure to fill another's need.
When you buy a kitten and with your precious dollars part,
You only pay with money ... we pay with our heart.
This poem is so true and just touches my heart
Ice: very laid back ( never gets claws out) very adventurous and loves to be able to kill some energy so lots of space and toys and a pen outside! Loves cuddles and eats almost anything lol
Coal: very much a home indoor cat who loves to be loved in a calm environment ( so not to be too loud etc) he would rather curl up and sleep next to you than be out chasing flies etc
contact Julie at Summerspride for more information thank you

Quality bengals are not inexpensive.
You get what you pay for in life, and that goes for bengals too, There is so much that goes into breeding quality bengals. Starting with acquiring top quality breeding stock a good knowledge base in breeding and animal husbandry. The time and energy to ensure your bengal cats and kittens are well socialized, to make and feed an appropriate raw, tinned and dry diet. There are several necessary genetics tests such as PK-Def (Hemolytic Anemia), PRA (Bengal Blindness) and PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) that need to be done to ensure you are not breeding bengals with serious health defects. There are also HCM screenings by veterinary cardiologists to ensure our bengals do not develop Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. In addition costs for litter and appropriate housing for breeding males, play structures, toys, cleaning fluids, bedding, upkeep of stud houses the list goes on and on, At the end of the day it is worth the time, energy and expense to have the privilege to have a part in breeding these wonderful and joyous pets.
